ACTIVITIES IN PENDER HARBOUR
Biking on the Sunshine Coast, BC
The BC Coast has excellent biking with many different degrees of difficulty to suit everyone's level of skill. Most of the Sunshine Coast road cycling route is along the main 101 Hwy, which has wide shoulders, limited grades and an easy rolling distance especially from Saltery Bay to Powell River.
The Lower Sunshine Coast also has numerous biking trails to accommodate various skill levels. Mountain biking and road biking are both options in this area, with most of the trails offering beautiful ocean views. One of the most popular routes is from Langdale to Lund – 139 km stretch of highway ready for exploring. The route is simple to follow and offers many side routes and scenic sites along the coastline.
For the family, the Inland Lake Trail is an excellent place for a family ride with easy trails that stretches 13kms in length. This Provincial Park is easily accessible and comfortable for a first bicycle ride but also offers a remote, authentic wilderness experience. Or challenge yourself on the specially constructed expert trails through forest trails up mountains to spectacular views.
Some of the most popular trails around are Bunster Hills Loop, Mud Lake Trail
System, Suicide Creek Loop, Elephant Lake Loop and Texada Island.
